Ferretti / MengQing Wu
Spatial Designer
Mengqing Wu currently completing Master of Interior Design in Glasgow school of Art, she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Decorative Arts Design from Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.
In postgraduate studying, she questioned and explored the relationship between culture, memory, and architectural space based on the context of the social issue. And specializes in designing interior space that can bring people unique and various sensory experiences. The undergraduate study helped her accumulate hands-on ability and practical experience, she was mainly focusing on the characteristics of materials and the design and production of various handicrafts.
She believes interior design has a big connection with other design fields, her personal works cover many aspects of design, like architecture, art installations, handmade artworks, those are extended learning for interior design.
Her graduation project is about a discussion of cultural coexistence in multicultural communities. The project aims to propose a hypothesis about the multicultural coexistence space for community members of different cultural backgrounds.
Currently seeking a practical position within an architecture/interior design company.
